ASRS LEAD INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER
VANCE, AL – TUSCALOOSA PLANT


As a member of the ASRS Engineering team, the ASRS Lead Industrial Engineer will be responsible for leading the ASRS Engineering team while maintaining and improving the ASRS system.


The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Troubleshoot and program PLCs using Allen Bradley Studio 5000
  • Interact Technically with ASRS Vendor
  • Understand the complexities of keeping an ASRS system operational
  • Manage a team of 3 ASRS Engineers and 1 Industrial Engineer
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical problems
  • A basic understanding of LAN networks
  • Ability to use excel
  • Ability to effectively communicate with Management and team members
  • Ability to root cause and eliminate issues to evaluate / improve processes
  • Must have a Teamwork mindset
  • Must adapt to Lear’s One Lear Mindset Philosophy
  • Must follow Lear’s Leadership Model
  • Must be an active participant in Lear’s initiative centered around TWW – Employee Engagement
  • Must enforce and ensure Lear’s policies are being followed
  • Must be willing to work on days, nights or combination shift

Your Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience with troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving a multi-functional system.
  • Engineering or Computer Science degree or equivalent and knowledge of and experience with basic plc, SCADA, and ASRS systems
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Lead Industrial Engineer will have ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Lead Industrial Engineer will have ability to follow written and verbal instruction (ex. Engineering specifications and/or drawings)
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, fingers to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb, stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must take a FFD physical to qualify

Bonus If You Have:

  • Troubleshoot using Cassioli 3D application
  • Troubleshoot ASRS System using SCADA
  • Knowledge of Sick, Keyence and Allen Bradley sensors, Datalogic and Keyence safety and barcode scanners, Allen Bradley relays, etc
  • Experience troubleshooting an automated warehousing system
