D. Wheatley Enterprises, Inc. (DWE) is a plastics engineering & manufacturing company that services the Aerospace, Defense, Medical, and Biotech Industries. Our facility covers 45,000 sq. ft. and houses our engineering, tooling, molding, and assembly operations. We make a variety of products ranging from pea-sized components to 400’ long wiring harness assemblies. Job purpose

The Assembly Operator assembles parts, pieces, or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of an assembly or production line in a diverse manufacturing organization.

Duties and responsibilities

• Assemble parts, pieces, or products using a variety of tools and equipment
• Material and supplies gathering
• Use of assembly tools, machines, and packaging
• Review and follow work instructions, diagrams, and part drawings to complete assigned tasks
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment according to DWE safety policies and procedures
• Documents actions and inspections by completing quality forms
• Follows work schedule and assignments as directed by supervisor
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED
• Must be able to follow work instructions, diagrams, and part drawings to complete assigned tasks
• Excellent vision, coordination & dexterity to handle and manipulate small materials & parts
• Close attention to detail
• Punctual with a high attendance rate
• Ability to follow directions
• Ability to perform repetitive work with long hours
• A team player who works well with others in a multi-cultural environment
• Previous work experience in manufacturing assembly or machine operations is desired

Working conditions

All work is performed in the assembly area/manufacturing floor

Physical requirements

Requires standing, repeated reaching and twisting, and hand movement throughout the entire shift. Requires lifting and moving materials up to 50 pounds. Requires mental and physical stamina and strength. The use of personal protection equipment (PPE) is often necessary.
