Job description:

The VDC? CAD tech works directly with internal project teams along with external collaborators including general contractors, design teams, construction managers and trade contractors to facilitate the project’s delivery throughout coordination and construction. This position is responsible for planning, executing, and closing out of BIM deliverables at the project specific level.

Reports to:

VDC Manager

Duties and responsibilities:

· Develop and manage detailed BIM Models utilizing Navisworks Manage

· Run clash detection, generate, manage and distribute clash reports

· Be equipped to offer solutions that aid in resolving existing BIM clashes

· Engage the design team as necessary to assist in the expedited resolution of clashes, design, and code related issues

· Host and facilitate coordination meetings to include multi-disciplinary trades, construction management and field install teams

· Record and distribute meeting minutes

· Develop BIM Execution plans as required

· Manage coordination and project schedules for multiple projects at a time

· Work with the Pre-Fabrication, Project Management and Field Teams to plan for install and timely release of material to pre-fab

· Assist in the planning and coordination of onsite layout activities including hanger and sleeve install utilizing Trimble Field layout

· Be equipped to utilize varying construction specific software platforms as they relate to coordination including but not limited to BIM 360 Collaborate Pro, Procore and Bluebeam Studio

· Manage point cloud data within a BIM model as required

· Work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter, motivated and detail oriented

· Report to VDC Manager on status of work, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading BIM/VDC Coordination

· MEP trade specific knowledge preferred

· Project experience relevant to healthcare, laboratory and high-rise construction desired

· Expert knowledge of Navisworks Manage, AutoCAD Fabrication MEP and Revit software programs in addition to Microsoft Office and Bluebeam Revu required

· Knowledge of Trimble field positioning systems is preferred

· Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings

· Excellent knowledge of drafting standards

Pay: $30.00 - $42.00 per hour
