Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Tube Bender for the FMH Business Unit. The preferred candidate will have experience cutting metal with a bandsaw and should have experience with speeds (RPMs) the saw is running to cut each type of material. Candidate must know the difference between Stainless, Aluminum, Inconel and Titanium. Overall familiarity using metal cutting and forming processes and perform these operations following safety protocols.

How you will do it

• Reads work order, blueprints, sketches, and bend data charts or works from master tubing templates to determined tubing dimensions, configuration, and finish specifications.
• Establishes basic and moderately complex trim lines of parts and relationship of parts to each other using master tube data, master template and measuring systems
• Set up and operate a variety of manual and power machines to cut, form, swage, flare and burr tubing according to specifications.
• Performs single bend, multiple bends, and transitions
• Sets up bending equipment per blueprint with appropriate tooling and clamp block, radius die, follower, wiper, and mandrel as required
• Programs bending equipment for production as required
• Determines adjustment(s) and pressures required to compensate for clamp marks, scratches, wrinkling, and other problems associated with improper set-up
• Continually monitors material quality and notifies quality control regarding defects
• Using calipers, vector equipment, and other appropriate measuring devices and blueprints inspects parts for tolerances as they are produced.

What we look for

• High School Diploma or Equivalent. Six months related experience
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
