We are a large, publicly-traded solid waste services company that provides non-hazardous waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services in mostly exclusive and secondary markets in the U.S. and Canada.

Our Controllers balance the day-to-day accounting functions and forward-looking financial aspects of the business. Our ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of accounting principles, self-directed curiosity to learn every facet of the business, and an interest in developing partnerships with all departments in the company.

Job Duties:

• A strong desire to learn every facet of the accounting process
• Prepare journal entries and financial processes to ensure an accurate General Ledger in accordance with GAAP through a timely month-end close
• Prepare and analyze monthly internal financial statements ensuring accuracy and timely reporting in a complex environment
• Complete account reconciliations monthly, researching and resolving any issues identified
• Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
• Perform analysis of actual to forecast/budget variances
• Assist in completing external and internal audits
• Responsible for special projects/reports as assigned

Requirements:

• BS in Accounting or Finance
• 1-3 years accounting experience preferred
• Proficient in MS Office with Advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge of GAAP/Accounting Processes
• Self-motivated, able to handle multiple priorities
• Willing to relocate in the future

Total Comp up to $80-90k with bonus opportunities!
