Shaker Place Rehabilitation & Nursing Center is currently seeking a Full Time Assistant Cook for our 5-Star Quality Rated Senior Care Community conveniently located in Colonie, NY within Albany County, NY.

The Assistant Cook assists in the preparation of food and assumes responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of the Cook.

Shift: Days

Status: Full Time

Department: Food Service

Requirements for a Shaker Place Assistant Cook:

• Minimum six months experience in large-scale cooking

Responsibilities for a Shaker Place Assistant Cook:

• Prepares and cooks meat, fish, poultry, soups, vegetables, sandwiches, cereals, desserts, salads, and other food;
• Bakes cakes, pies, roll and a variety of other pastries;
• Cuts, cleans and dresses meat, fish and poultry;
• Assists in the proper storing of food;
• May supervise the work of assistants in the cleaning of tables, kitchen utensils, stoves and kitchen:
• Keeps simple records related to all of the above.
