Phillip Jeffries is looking for an Assistant Designer to join our Product Development team!

We are currently accepting applications for an Assistant Designer on the Customs Wallcovering category. In this role, this individual will complete custom design projects for Phillip Jeffries Pure Imagination program and assist the Senior Lead Customs Designer and Project Manager with various design tasks. The Ideal candidate will be able to bring our interior design clients' vision to life. This position will report directly to our Customs Project Manager and will work a hybrid schedule (2-3 days in office).

What you will be doing:

  • Bring clients’ visions to life through custom design work.
  • Modify PJ designs through scale/repeat/layout/color changes
  • Evaluate submit projects for print readiness
  • Refine artwork for digital printing
  • Utilize Photoshop to create print ready files (resolution, scale, bleeds, etc.)
  • Administration of custom project work.
  • Communicate Design Team capabilities and needs to Project Manager
  • Schedule, prioritize, and track custom projects
  • Track and report upon request trends
  • Organization of custom design projects/files.
  • Catalog and organize files for file sharing.
  • Utilize shared files on server.
  • Prepare and maintain level of standard for files.
  • Manufacturing of custom projects.
  • Create and catalog production/strikeoff files
  • Strategize file transfer/NAV setup procedures to streamline production
  • Color correct on-press (requires planning, speedy Photoshop work, basic understanding of color profiling, and color matching)
  • Assisting the Senior Lead Customs Designer and Project manager with custom requests.

Must have:

  • BA or BFA in interior design, industrial design, textile design or a related field.
  • 3 years of technical experience in surface pattern design, within wallcoverings, prints, or textiles preferred
  • Must be proficient in:
  • Photoshop
  • CAD software (AVA preferred)
  • Color Theory
  • Color Correction
  • Microsoft Office Product
  • Previous CAD or graphic design experience, a plus
  • Understanding of wallcovering installation process and Lamination is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
  • Problem solver
