Little Sprouts seeks an Assistant Director to join our team on the Medford campus. Little Sprouts is part of a network of 39 preschools and early learning centers across New England. We prioritize employee experience and the total well-being of our teachers and leaders.
As the Assistant Director, your support in maintaining center operations and aiding in the development and implementation of plans and goals for the school is integral to the center's success. You will work with the Executive Director to coordinate and supervise daily operations, ensuring compliance with regulations and occasional classroom coverage.
The Assistant Director will have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and a passion for nurturing children and their families. Is that you in a nutshell?
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of Child Growth & Development Course (Certification Earned).
- Lead teacher certified and/or Director II (or working towards it).
- Demonstrate kindness and respect for self, others, and our community at-large.
- Skilled in play-based learning approaches and social-emotional education.
- Deliver required paperwork and completed lesson plans on time.
REQUIREMENTS
- Prerequisites
- § Must be Director certified by the State Licensing Authority. In Massachusetts, the Assistant Director mush be Director II certified or actively working towards it.
- § Must have at least 12 months’ experience as a successful experience as an assistant director or program coordinator of an early childhood school for another organization
- § Must have Associates Degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Adhere to all MA Public Health and Child Care Regulations.
- Authorize state-required background check and CORI.
- Act as mandated reporter, both on and off campus.
- Help ensure classroom environments adhere to NAEYC’s Anti-Bias Early Education.
- Ability to stand, move, run, and play for the majority of the day.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds multiple times a day.
