What We Are Looking For

The Strategic Marketing and Fan Engagement department at Baylor University is seeking a Assistant Director of Strategic Marketing & Community Engagement to support Baylor's Universities mission. The Assistant Director of Strategic Marketing & Community Outreach is responsible coordinating efforts to enhance fan opportunities within the community. This position will plan, organize and execute special events for the Strategic Marketing and Fan Engagement department.

A Bachelor's degree, less than one year of relevant work experience, and a Christian faith are required. A Master’s degree and two years of relevant work experience are preferred.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

• Develop group sales strategies in partnership with the Baylor Ticket Sales Department and Marketing & Fan Engagement. This includes identifying lead opportunities within game promotions, community outreach and hospitality.
• Execute brand development initiatives such as the official Baylor Kids Club “Cub Club”, and community philanthropic outreach.
• Spearhead special events such as Faculty & Staff Appreciation, Future Bears Day, and meet the team events.
• Ensure campaign success through consistent collaboration with members of the Athletics Department and Baylor campus, including Baylor External Affairs to identify opportunities with groups that are visiting campus and cultivate group ticket sales.
• Identify and market premium in-venue group activations and act as liaison to external partners.
• Coordinate invocation, color guard, National Anthems, halftime, or timeout group entertainment for football and basketball.
• Assist internal and external partners in execution of digital and traditional advertising campaigns that drive ticket sales, event attendance and overall engagement for Baylor events.
• Maintain detailed planning records, track campaign performances, utilize project management tools, recap campaigns, communicate creative, adjust marketing plans and research media trends.
• Assist Director of Strategic Marketing for Basketball with special projects and campaigns, email communications and other departmental priorities.
• Act as a brand ambassador aligning the use of Baylor Brand Guidelines with all external-facing marketing efforts.
• Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and institution rules and regulations and to communicate immediately any possible infractions of such rules and regulations to the Athletics Compliance staff.
• Other program duties as requested by the Director of Athletics or area head.
