Assistant Manager/Patient Advocate
Job description
Position Description:
The Patient Advocate will be responsibility for day-to-day operations of the front office.
You will be accountable for patient scheduling, receiving patients at the office, collecting payments, performing eligibility tasks by completing an intake form, handling patient inquiries and concerns, managing telephone calls and assisting with patient billing.
Essential Functions:
Insurance verification calling for preauthorization New Patient consultation Report of Findings explaining care plans and discounts
Checking Patients in and out of the Clinic Patient Recalls Assisting with billing and operations Going over doctor findings with the patient to ensure they receive the care they need Create and maintain an attractive and calming for patients.
Assist in maintaining a timely flow of patients through the office
Work within the patient management system for walk-in and scheduled patients
Complete health screening questions and ensure safety protocols are followed
Review patient records for completeness, accuracy and compliance
Enter data, such as demographic characteristics and reason for visit into patient management system
Collect patient co-payments or documentation for deferred payment
JOB Requirements/Experience:
Education: High school diploma and some college preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to operate a multi-line phone system
Ability to deal with patients in a professional manner
Demonstrated customer service skills including phone etiquette
Knowledge of basic computer applications
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions and deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situation.
Experience: 1-2 years prior customer service experience required; preference for experience that includes working in a medical clinic environment. We will train the right person
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Weekend availability
Supplemental pay types:
- Bonus pay

- Lutherville-Timonium, MD 21093: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Experience:
- Customer service: 2 years (Preferred)
