DAVIS is seeking an Assistant Risk Manager who is responsible for assisting with overall management of comprehensive corporate risk management / insurance program with a concentration on risk identification, risk transfer and risk retention techniques. Reporting to the Director – Risk Management, this is a highly visible position that involves close interaction with numerous internal and external clients and business partners.
Here’s what you get to do:
- Analyze and understand insurable risks and potential risk mitigation opportunities; interact with operational groups to ensure coordination between project activities, exposures, and appropriate insurance coverage
- Manage day-to-day interaction between all project participants, brokers and insurers related to risk management and insurance issues
- Manage all aspects of new opportunity proposal responses (RFPs) and contract review as relates to insurance and bond issues; Coordinate with Operations, Marketing-Communications, Estimating, and Legal as needed including necessary deliverables, estimated pricing, and suggested contract modifications and revisions
- Facilitate timely delivery of project-specific performance and payment bonds with broker and surety representatives
- Provide full management and oversight of rolling GL-only Contractor Controlled Insurance Program (CCIP) in close coordination with CCIP administrator and broker representatives, Operations and project participants
- Assist with budgets, forecasts and financial reports, including the analysis of annual insurance premiums, financial performance of insurance programs, and determination of billing rates and premium allocations
- Potential for rapid career development
Here’s who you are: (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
- A Minimum of Three (3) years of progressive responsibility in the insurance industry (carrier or broker), or within a corporate risk management department
- Decision making, research and analytical problem-solving skills
- Time management with the ability to organize, assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands, and to work independently
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and interact effectively at all levels within the organization
- Attention to detail
- Proactive mindset
- Able to work on-site (Rockville) for first 6months and hybrid thereafter
