We seek an Automotive State & Local Tax (SALT) Accountant at the Shared Services office location in Las Vegas, NV. In this position, you help us to maintain compliance in our state & local jurisdictions, mitigate risk, and identify opportunities for improvement. This position will work with a variety of personnel at the management and dealership level.

• Timely prepare and file all State & Local compliance returns for OR, WA, CA, AK, and TX including:

• Sales/Use/Excise Tax
• Battery/Tire Fee
• Vehicle Inventory Tax
• Personal/Unsecured Property Tax
• Ensure all property/personal property taxes paid timely
• Work with outside consultants to lower property tax assessments
• Coordinate and correspond with State & Local auditors
• Maintain monthly dealership level accrual journal entries
• Review and correct schedules
• Follow approved office processes
• Provide notes for any issues that need attention from dealership management and provide to Controller/Accounting manager for weekly review in debriefs.
• Build relationships and communication with dealership personnel and accounting managers

Qualifications:

• Understand deadlines and apply an appropriate sense of urgency and prioritization to all tasks
• Professional appearance and work ethic
• Team-oriented and comfortable in an open office
• Two years of Accounting experience, dealership local & state tax experience in a multi-dealer company or auto dealer related software.
• Hard working with strong attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Computer Science, or a related field from an accredited college/university
• Very advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, or Google Docs/Sheets/Slides
• Strong client services orientation and accustomed to taking an active role in executing projects
