Position Title: Backend API Developer

Position Summary:
Cognitive Medical Systems, Inc. has a requirement for a full-time backend API developer to support requirements for API integration involving the TRICARE T-5 contract supporting TriWest Healthcare Alliance as the TRICARE West Region Managed Care Support Contractor. In this role, the candidate will be integrating various connections involving commercial and government information systems and applications to facilitate the transmission of healthcare- and health insurance-related data. The candidate works in a team of cross-functional IT professionals supporting various aspects of the Department of Defense’s (DoD) Military Health System (MHS). This position is contingent upon Cognitive being awarded the T-5 API development work.


Duties:

  • Build internal facing API-based applications in an agile environment, focusing on API development using MuleSoft and Microsoft Azure platform integration.
  • Maintain and optimize third-party platform integrations, such as API scripts, data feeds, and SFTP connections.
  • Analyze customer needs of required applications to determine technical requirements for API development and ongoing management.
  • Assess and document client requirements, and partner internally to review project plans and Statement of Work (SOWs) to ensure delivery.
  • Collaborate and regularly communicate with dedicated product owners, other developer team members, and quality assurance teams.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to measure the success of the team and integration efforts.
  • Grow leadership skills by serving in a lead role on selected projects, to include leading and facilitating code reviews - train and mentor junior developers.
