Job Description

Streamline is seeking a highly skilled Senior PHP Developer with Cloud development experience. As a Senior Developer, you will be responsible for developing best-in-class solutions while working with an energetic and innovative team. In this role, you will take ownership of developing RESTful services, implementing changes to the database and service models, creating new modules, and developing integrations with 3rd party platforms.

The ideal candidate for this role will have extensive experience as a backend developer, with expertise in PHP and PostgreSQL, and experience in AWS. Some full-stack experience is a plus.

What You’ll Do (Functions & Responsibilities)

• Develop, troubleshoot and maintain application code for existing programs on both the front-end (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, etc.) and the back-end (PHP, etc.)
• Collaborate with team in defining architecture; implement data contracts; identify and proactively advise on potential risks to success
• Design, develop and test new modules throughout their life cycle - Translate design vision provided by the management team
• Learn, understand and use PHP and JavaScript frameworks used by the application; contribute to development, troubleshooting and maintenance of custom framework as needed
• Manage application dependencies
• Work with Q/A team to develop and maintain regression and unit testing platform
• Research and recommend changes to management team to improve application and user experience
• Follow coding conventions, policies and procedures provided

What We’re Looking For (Minimum qualifications)

• 5 years of development experience with strong preference for PHP in high-load systems.
• Cloud development experience in Azure or AWS.
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL, query profiling and optimization skills.
• Solid experience with PHP, REST services, Bash scripting, Data Design/Modeling.
• Experience architecting and developing large scale design.
• Experience architecting and developing microservices.
• Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid experience with VCS (i.e. Git)
• Solid experience with caching engines (i.e. Memcache or Redis)
• Preferred experience with managed queues services (i.e. RabbitMQ or Kafka)
• Preferred experience with Bootstrap, popular front-end JS frameworks (i.e. ReactJS, Node.JS, YUI), and PHP (i.e. Laravel) is a plus (JavaScript/HTML/CSS/Bootstrap/PHP/PostgreSQL/AWS)

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
• DBA courses (Postgres/Oracle) - certificate of Professional level minimum.
