In celebration of its 10th anniversary, North Block, winner of Travel & Leisure’s World’s Best and Condé Nast Traveler Reader’s Choice awards re-debuts as a unique and dynamic food, wine, and lodging experience in Yountville, a world-renowned culinary destination.

North Block offers a seamless experience that is refined but relaxed by combining sophisticated design with eclectic elements, attentive service that is personal, and a menu that is refined and elevated but does not take itself too seriously. The menus will be driven by the seasonal ingredients procured from farmers and ranchers within its Wine Country radius. The food and wine offerings will look towards global flavors and inspirations with wines from celebrated winemakers, and locally made beers and spirits.

We are currently hiring an experienced Bartender- weekends and evenings are required. Please respond to this ad or come by the restaurant any day between 1pm and 4pm to apply- 6757 Washington Street, Yountville, CA 94599.

As a Bartender, you will take orders, prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and meals to guests courteously, enthusiastically, and efficiently according to established service standards and specifications. Maintain stock/supplies and cleanliness of outlet and equipment. Adhere to safety practices and procedures.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

· Be well organized, maintain concentration and think clearly when providing service to guests within any given period of time.

· Focus attention on details.

· Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.

· Provide legible communication.

· Compute basic mathematical calculations.

· Perform job functions with minimal supervision.

· Be a team player – need to be willing to lend a helping hand to any teammate at any time.

Knowledge of:

· P.O.S. system.

· Table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up and dress code of the Restaurant/Bar.

· All liquor brands, beers and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes in the restaurant.

· Particular characteristics and description of every wine/ champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.

· All menu items, prices, preparation method/time, ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish and method of presentation.

· Maintain complete knowledge of, and strictly abide by, state liquor regulations (particularly those prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons, and drunk driving).

· Correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended.

· Company service standards and practices.

· Maintain complete knowledge of, and comply with, all departmental policies/service procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum 21 years of age.

· One year of Bartending experience minimum.

· Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding.

· Food Handler Certification.

· Team player – need to be willing to lend a helping hand to any teammate at any time.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school graduate, some college.

· Certificate in alcohol awareness program.

· Knowledge of POS System.

· Prior training in guest relations.
