The Maple Run Unified School District and Bellows Free Academy (St. Albans) are excited to launch an alternative high school program for the 22/23 school year. BFA is looking to fill two (2) Educational Support position at the Behavior Interventionist level at the new Alternative Program classroom. The program will begin serving students in the 22/23 school year.

The program will work closely with the BFA high school and students will also access teachers, counselors, case managers, staff, and resources from BFA and Northwest Career and Technical Center. Candidates with experience teaching at the high school level in a proficiency-based system and those who are interested in meeting the diverse social-emotional and academic needs of students through flexible pathways are encouraged to consider this opportunity to be part of launching our new program. Qualified candidates must be collaborative team members and have a passion for children. Individuals will work with research-based intervention strategies and support differentiated classroom settings to meet the needs of our students.

Behavior management skills is a plus. Ability to support students in feeling as if they belong and are held accountable. Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate a high degree of interpersonal and communication skills, an acute attention to detail, and demonstrated flexibility and adaptability.Education and/or Experience: H.S. Graduate or equivalent, column placement based on Educational Support Professionals Master Agreement.

Behavior Interventionist must have current Handle With Care (HWC) certification or the ability to obtain HWC certification upon being hired. Preferred knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and trauma-informed care and one or more years of successful experience with special needs students.
