ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for an ambitious Behavioral Health Medical Assistant (BHMA) who is passionate about playing a critical role in an organization poised to innovate the healthcare services sector and reach stratospheric levels of growth and success. You should be customer- centric, enjoy challenges, possess a proactive, entrepreneurial approach to getting things done.
RESPONSIBILITIES
BHMA provides routine technical medical assistant responsibilities and assists with other related duties involved in providing direct patient care.
This role works directly with Medical and Psychiatric providers to assist in optimal patient care during their visit. BHMA is assigned to a medical/psychiatric provider and may be subject to travel within that providers’ region. BHMA may also be responsible for reporting and phone calls.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED, required
• Bilingual preferred: Vietnamese or Spanish speaking
• Medical Assistant (MA) from a state-approved school, required
• One year of work experience in a behavioral health setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of all confidentiality requirements regarding patients and strict maintenance of proper confidentiality on all such information.
• Effective language, listening, and verbal presentation skills to communicate with staff, patients, families, and caregivers.
• Ability to read and understand complex information and reference materials to collect relevant information.

Experience:

• EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
• Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
