You'll be working directly with the business owner (hi, I'm Michael) to help with a variety of bookkeeping tasks. I own a couple different businesses and want to hand off some tasks that I’ve been doing so I have time to focus on other tasks. Each business has its own set of accounts, electronic files, etc. You’ll need your own phone, computer, printer/scanner, and a good internet connection. You’ll access my electronic files through shared files on Dropbox. Communication with me will be through a combination of face-to-face, phone, text, and email.
- You’ll frequently enter receipts, bills, revenue, etc into Excel spreadsheets through Dropbox.
- You’ll frequently communicate with me via face-to-face, phone, text, and email correspondences.
- Must be able to clearly, professionally, and respectfully communicate.
- Every couple of days, I’ll stop by your house, office, or ??? to drop off new receipts, pick up old receipts, and look at/answer any questions you may have about files, receipts, bills, etc.
- I’ll commonly forward you emails for entry into the accounting files.
- On a weekly basis, you’ll scan, rename, and save paperwork to Drobox
- On a weekly basis, you’ll access certain websites through the provided user credentials to download, rename, and save files to Drobox.
- On a bi-weekly basis, you’ll enter in employee hours to the payroll company.
- On a monthly basis, you’ll reconcile bank and credit card statements to the excel files on Dropbox.
- On a monthly basis, you’ll enter in rents from tenants of residential and commercial properties.
- On a monthly (or more frequent, sometimes), you’ll provide updates on rent rolls – who’s still late on rent, how much do they owe, etc.
- You’ll periodically reach out to vendors, suppliers, etc with specific questions and requests.
- On a yearly basis, you’ll help fulfill the tax gurus information requests.
Job Location:
You’ll be working from your home or office. Every couple of days, I’ll stop by your home or office to exchange receipts and other paperwork. As long as you live near my routine driving routes between my business, I have no problem making a 10-minute detour to stop by your home or office. For reference, I live near Arcadia, OK (East of Edmond) and have businesses near NW 31st & May Ave (OKC), NW 10th & Rockwell (OKC), and Mustang, Oklahoma.
Job Hours:
This job has no preset hours and I’m happy as long as everything’s getting done in a timely manner and you’re communicating well. I expect it to be average 15 hours per week. Beginning of the month is normally busier than the middle of the month. I’m open to you helping with other administrative assistance tasks if you have an interest. Hint: the more you can take off my plate, the more hours you’ll end up with : ).
- A background check is a requirement for this job.
- You’ll be hired and paid as a 1099 independent contractor.
