Position summary/purpose:

As a member of the PTR Operations & Business Excellence (OBE), Business Systems Operations Squad, your job as a Business Systems Support Analyst is to provide systems operational, change and project support, including troubleshooting and issue resolution for relevant Regulatory business software systems.

We are seeking an individual who is located in the San Francisco area to fill this position who is able to work on site three days out of five, or according to the local work requirements for the South San Francisco site.

Accountabilities and Competencies:

Lead technical support activities to evaluate and develop systems and processes that are cost-effective and meet user requirements.

  • Configure system settings and options as part of project or change implementations for systems.

  • Document requirements and processes to ensure specifications and procedures are current.

  • Execute unit integration and acceptance testing of business systems as required.

  • Report on issues that impact the user experience (in addition to reporting system operational issues).

Perform analysis duties to contribute to operational support decision making on issue resolution, change management, and strategic system roadmap planning.

Lead and develop end user community communications to ensure a smooth user experience with Regulatory business system upcoming changes and to ensure transparency of the status of rollout activities and progress on issue resolution matters.

Work in a global company environment across different time zones, collaborating with multiple stakeholder groups within Regulatory, external contractors, Information Technology and other internal support and project teams.

Continuously develop and maintain a deep technical knowledge of Regulatory business software systems and expertise in order to help ensure an optimal user experience of software systems within Regulatory.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required (Information Systems or life sciences disciplines preferred).

  • 10+ years of experience in operational activities in the field of IT systems and business processes (e.g. as a System Owner/Deputy, or Business Owner) within the technical functions of the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Technical background and experience with Regulatory and Quality information systems is preferred but not mandatory: ie. Regulatory Information Management, Regulatory Publishing, Country Requirements, HA Questions and Answers, Document Management, and Quality Change Management systems, etc.

  • Experience leading and coordinating operational support activities across multiple sites.

  • Demonstrated success in communicating and presenting across a variety of audiences, including business people and technologists (both up and down the organization).

  • Ability to work autonomously without the need for direct line management support on site

Travel Requirements:

Ability to travel internationally as required (ca. 1 trip per year)

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $120,800-$224,400. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
