Job description

Primary Purpose:

Facilitates the placement of purchase orders. Supports a service-focused, cost-effective, centralized purchasing process of supplies and services to support patients, clinical staff, and department personnel. Collaborates with System Logistics personnel, internal partners, and end users to identify and research opportunities to reduce costs through product standardization and/or conversion.

Education Required:

High School Graduate.

Experience Required: Typically requires 2 years of experience in purchasing.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills. Must be able to work independently and respond to fluctuating work levels.

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) or similar products.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job. Position works in a well-lighted, well-ventilated area with moderate noise and traffic.

Uses a computer frequently throughout the workday.

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

Exposed to a normal office environment.

The position requires some travel so the incumbent will be exposed to road and weather hazards.
