CTC Technology & Energy is of one of the nation’s preeminent communications and IT engineering consulting firms serving public sector and nonprofit clients throughout the US. To build our growing team, we seek a highly motivated and self-reliant CAD Drafter to join our growing Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering Team.

In this position, you will help state and local governments plan for and deliver telecom, IT, and public safety infrastructure.

This position will include the following tasks:

  • Works with minimal supervision and independently to interpret client requirements, sketches, mark ups, verbal and written directions to create CAD engineering concepts and drawings
  • Convert field notes, architectural, engineering and/or plan sketches into working construction drawings using the required software per client specifications
  • Coordinate directly with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements, verify design details, and recommend modifications as needed
  • Prepares presentations for program and design reviews
  • Possess the ability to understand problems and resolve those problems and communicate effectively
  • Provide technical assistance on work methods and procedures improvement efforts
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills & Experience

The following skills and experience are required for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2 years’ experience in CAD design
  • Experience working in an ERP environment
  • Strong computer skills required, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Effectively communicate and work with both internal Engineering and Project Management teams as well as customers
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS is preferred but not required
