Café Executive Officer (C.E.O.)

Job purpose: As a C.E.O., you will be responsible for Saxbys’ Three Pillars of Leadership as well as leading the daily operations of your café. You will lead your team to achieve four wall profit and social impact successes. Saxbys provides an industry-leading training program to set you up for success.

Summary of duties and responsibilities:

  • Achieve mastery for the Three Pillars of leadership as defined in the C.E.O. Program;

Team Development

  • Ascertain the training needs and offer appropriate coaching and direction to the team while providing regular feedback
  • Manage talent lifecycle in the cafe through recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and coaching team members
  • Be a servant leader by providing the tools the team needs, completing tasks alongside their team, and providing direction, clear goals, and motivation
  • Coordinate with Certified Trainers and Heads of Area Operations to plan and execute necessary trainings
  • Ensure a safe,equitable and inclusive work environment for all team members at all times

Community Leadership

  • Develop and lead community relationships to ensure that your Saxbys café is an integral part of the community that it serves
  • Plan and execute community outreach initiatives to drive 4 wall top line sales
  • Support Saxbys’ social impact mission of education and opportunity through team development and outreach efforts
  • Instill and maintain a culture of hospitality and servant leadership

Financial Management

  • Identify opportunities and institute key performance indicators to meet and exceed sales goals and use operational tools to monitor costs to increase profitability
  • Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency
  • Meet budgeted costs categories in the cafe
  • Analyze and manage Profit and Loss Statements by completing Weekly Financial Reviews and put feedback into action

Operational Support

  • Manage shifts and shifts changes effectively through proper scheduling
  • Utilize and implement all Saxbys tools, policies and procedures
  • Assist in the preparation and service of menu drinks and food items
  • Ensure Serv-Safe standards are upheld to maintain café cleanliness including all service spaces, guest seating areas, and bathroom facilities
  • Appropriately execute administrative work to support café operations:
  • Manage cash by preparing daily cash deposits
  • Monitor and manage product availability and waste through inventory counts
  • Take lead on ordering and invoicing for product and supplies
  • Create weekly schedules to ensure appropriate labor per café volume
  • Ensure the safety of the café, guests, and team members

  • Able to stand, walk, and smile for extended periods of time
  • Able to stoop and kneel
