Job Summary

Work in the Care of Ship Department may vary from day to day, based on the needs of the Company. Duties may include fire watch, working with other departments and general housekeeping duties.

Job Duties

• Fire Watch.

• De-Watering of vessel.

• Assisting with blocking of vessel.

• Covering/protecting equipment (with plywood, fire cloth, heat shrink).

• Installing handrails. • Assisting paint department.

• General Housekeeping duties.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Regular attendance at work required which includes including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Requirements
Qualifications

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalence. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills

• Must be able to quickly understand duties and have the ability to work with various crafts.

• Work as part of a team or independently as directed.

• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently.

• Must be able to work overtime as needed.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.

• Integrity, ethics, flexibility/adaptability, initiative, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, safety conscious, and multi-tasking.

• Maintain the confidential integrity of details pertaining to Eastern Shipbuilding Group.

Desired Skills • 1 or more years of shipyard construction experience.
