The primary functions of this position are to pick-up and deliver local freight using any single vehicle (with a gross combination weight rating of 26,001 pounds or greater), while providing good customer service in a professional, safe and efficient manner.

Tasks:

• Pick-up and delivery of local freight using a flatbed truck, box truck, van or other company vehicle
• Assist in the loading and unloading of vehicles, trailers or containers as requested
• Assist in moving freight within yard or warehouse using appropriate equipment as requested
• Communicate with Dispatch for routes and changes to assigned routes
• Process paperwork related to freight
• Collect monies from customers with Cash On Delivery invoices
• Assist customers (over phone and face-to-face) regarding freight pick-up and delivery in a polite and professional manner
• Daily vehicle inspections
• Consistently follow all safety procedures
• Minor vehicle maintenance and cleaning
• Warehouse cleanup
• Assist coworkers and other departments as requested
• Follow all Department of Transportation regulations
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma (or equivalent) required
• Minimum six months driving Class B vehicles required
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary qualifications to successfully perform the duties of the position

Supervision/Management:

• Position is not Supervisory in nature

• Ability to move up to 200 pounds utilizing proper moving equipment
