Career opportunity – Dispatcher & Customer Service Rep, Cement Dispatch Team

Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, weekend availability

Location: Mokena, IL

As the Dispatch & Customer Service Representative, you will serve on a team that interacts with customers, vendors, and company operations.

The area focus is Chicagoland, northwest Indiana, and Wisconsin. The busy season is typically April through November though it is a year-round business.

Responsibilities:

• Process customer, driver and hauler inquiries and orders using dispatch system
• Review and approve payout of loads to company drivers and third-party haulers
• Determine best delivery methods and negotiate rates directly with vendors and customers
• Solicit and schedule orders in a timely and efficient manner
• Schedule trucks to maximize efficiency and profitability
• Manage hauler relationships, paperwork collection and order processing
• Work with customers to adjust truck demand to meet proper delivery rate
• Determine driver schedules for the next day

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Extensive knowledge of the Chicagoland & NWI/WI area

Experience:

• Dispatch experience preferred

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to make quick decisions that meet established goals when under pressure
• Read and understand maps
• Remain calm in high pressure situations
• Communicate effectively with a wide variety of customers and an effective problem solver
• Good computer skills and general knowledge of Dispatch software
• Bilingual in Spanish or Polish is ideal but not required
