Bayside Marin, a premier residential treatment center in Northern California is looking for an experienced Chef to join our incredible culinary team. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the overall team execution of meals in a timely and effective manner.
- Monitor the presentation of all foods served to guests and ensure that appearance and quality are consistently maintained.
- Lead the team by example, and be accountable for a high level of morale and productivity.
- Ability to collaboratively develop and communicate menus and recipes to consistently achieve high guest satisfaction.
- Interact with clients in a professional manner and communicate their needs to team members to effectively respond to and solve a wide range of issues.
- Maintain ServSafe food safety standards and following protocols and procedures precisely.
- Manage the use, storage and maintenance of all kitchen equipment and tools.
- Direct and participate in clean up as needed; must be flexible and willing to take on all tasks.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
- Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 5 years kitchen experience with progressively increasing responsibility.
- Minimum of 2 years in a managerial and supervisory role.
- Available and willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- History of cooking in institutional healthcare setting preferred, but not required.
- Ability to speak English adequate to communicate with staff and clients, and to perform simple math.
- Mobility to bend, stoop and work standing for long periods of time, and to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Have a neat, clean appearance, with work appropriate hygiene and grooming habits.
- Possess or be able to attain a ServSafe Manager training certification within 30 days of hire.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
- ServSafe Certification or similar food safety certification, where required by the state, facility.
