Schedule: Full-time
Salary Range: $125,000 - $200,000

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel. Responsible for preplanning, execution, and closing of projects.
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for managing the entire Accounting and Finance function of a Development Company, a Design Company, a Construction Company, and a Property Management Company (“RealAmerica Companies”). The candidate needs to be skilled in accounting, finance, communication, time management, and leadership skills. The CFO will be managing all of the accounting and finance functions for RealAmerica projects and Companies.

  • Oversees Accounting department, budget preparation, and audit functions.
  • Develop, supervise, and train Accounting Staff and other departments, as needed
  • Works with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations.
  • Participate in strategic planning and decisions
  • Provide leadership and guidance in the evaluation of short and long term strategic financial objectives
  • Manage third party relations with investors, attorneys, accountants and other various team members.
  • Ensure effective internal controls for compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

Job Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance from an accredited college. Master’s degree strongly preferred but not required
  • CPA and/or CMA required
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Proven track record of a high level of integrity, honesty, and dependability
  • Minimum of 5 years accounting experience with emphasis on accounting and finance related duties in a Real Estate Development, Construction, and/or Property Management company
  • Prior supervisory and coordination experience of multiple staff and/or subcontractors
  • Multi-tasking skills a must
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and in team environments
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable private transportation

Experience/Skills

  • Experience with the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and other tax credit programs a must. Preferred experience with federal and state financing and funding sources as well as different debt products
  • Experience with HUD financing/funding sources and requirements
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Construction Project Management & Estimating Software (ProCore Preferred)
  • Experience with Accounting software (Yardi preferred)
  • Experience Training and developing staff
  • Other duties as assigned by the President/CEO

Background, DMV check and drug screen will be required upon acceptance of an offer to the candidate.
Contacts and Liaisons:
The Construction Project Manager will regularly communicate with all necessary RealAmerica Management Company employees, outside vendors and other individuals as deemed necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
