Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are seeking Civil Engineers with 4 to 6 years of experience to join our growing team. The successful new hires may be seated in any of the following office locations: Walnut Creek, CA; Long Beach, CA; or Raleigh, NC. Qualified candidates will have experience that includes: design and preparation of construction drawings and contract documents for civil engineering projects. You will assist with planning, designing, plan production, and creating construction documents to support complex projects such as port/cargo terminal upland site work, dredging, and municipal. Experience with large projects, project phasing plans (to minimize impact to live operations), and/or industrial sites will be an asset to your success for this position!

Duties and responsibilities:
Under limited supervision, prepare design documents and reports for civil site development (site layout, grading, storm water, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems)- Perform calculations, cost estimates, prepare drawings, technical specifications, and write reports
- Coordinate civil design with entry-level staff along with other disciplines to meet project schedules and budgets while working directly under licensed engineers
- Perform limited field observations in support of construction and data collection
- Perform hydrology/hydraulics analysis

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer license
- 4 to 6 years of civil site design experience
- Stormwater modeling, AutoCAD, and Civil3D experience
- WaterCAD experience preferred
- Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
- All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
$43.04 to $52.60 per hour based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.
Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California market.
Physical requirements:
Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
