Position will support SHMG - Hematology / Oncology at Saratoga Springs and Malta locations.

The Nurse Manager functions as a manager who provides administrative, clinical oversight and support to the specific department of Hematology/Oncology Outpatient Setting. He/she supervises and supports the clinical staff associated with the Hematology-Oncology.

The Nurse Manager will collaborate with practice management and provide clinical staff development, evaluations, competencies, standardization and onboarding of all clinical staff. He/she ensures the practices are managed in a cost effective manner. He/she will also be in charge of maintaining compliance with all regulatory agency and accreditation standards and requirements along with Quality Reporting Initiatives.

Act as an expert (Super-user) of the electronic medical record, training new clinical staff, implementing new functionality and providing ongoing direction for system utilization. Provide staff training, as needed, both informally and in formal in-service presentations.

Utilizes your expert hematology/oncology knowledge, clinical skills and critical thinking in managing patient care services.

He/she works in a collaboration with the providers, the Practice Manager and the Administrative Directors of the practice. He/she will manage the Clinical Coordinators and oversee the clinical staff members to include RNs, LPNs, MAs.

The Nurse Manger will provide care within his/her scope of practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, regulations and institutional policy and practice agreements.

He/she provide direct patient care as needed and works in an Outpatient setting with Chemotherapy and Infusion Outpatient Clinic.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required. Minimum of six years' Hematology / Oncology experience required. Minimum of five years' Nursing Leadership required. Licensed as Registered Nurse in New York State.
