Position Description:

We’re looking for an experienced Medical Biller/Coder, who, in addition to performing billing and coding, will also be responsible for auditing medical records. As a biller and coder with us you will be responsible for accurately coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, Level I & II modifiers) and billing podiatric procedures for patients in assisted living, skilled nursing, and independent communities as well as office visits. In addition to learning and becoming responsible for billing and coding podiatric services, you will work closely with the CEO with the opportunity to learn and master all aspects of the revenue cycle and play a key role in ensuring provider notes are complete and accurate.

Desired skills/experience:

  • 2+ years post-training work experience with medical coding
  • 2+ years post-training work experience with medical billing
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records
  • Proficiency with ICD-10 CM and HCPPCS
  • Working knowledge of Medicare and Local Medical Review Policy Guidelines.
  • Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Evaluation and Management coding
  • Knowledge of insurance reimbursement processes
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and adept at reviewing physician notes
  • Organized, detailed oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication skills
  • AHIMA CCS or CCS-P certification or AAPC CPC Certification
  • Highly proficient or higher on Indeed accuracy and coding assessments

Preferred:

  • Registered Health Information Technology (RHIT) or RHIA
  • Associates or higher in Health Information Technology
  • Managerial experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
To keep our employees safe, we limit the number of employees in the office at a time and provide additional workspaces. After initial training period this position can be transitioned to mostly remote work.

  • Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Medical Billing: 2 years (Required)
  • Medical coding: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • AHIMA CCS/CCS-P or AAPC CPC certification (Required)
