Job Description
The J. Frank Barefield, Jr. Department of Criminal Justice at the University of Alabama at Birmingham invites applications for one-year non-renewable Visiting Assistant Professor with a start date of August 15, 2023. We seek a candidate with teaching expertise in criminology/criminal justice. The candidate must be available to teach on-campus and online courses. Candidates should have a minimum of M.A. or M.S. degree in criminology, criminal justice, or a degree with similar training but different nomenclature (e.g., Justice Studies). The successful candidate will teach 4 courses in fall 2023 and 4 courses in spring 2024.
Required Qualifications
The candidate must hold a minimum of M.A. or M.S. in criminology, criminal justice, or a degree with similar training but different nomenclature (e.g., Justice Studies) at the time of appointment. The candidate should have experience teaching criminology or criminal justice courses at the undergraduate level.
