Communications Consultant
Dynamic Integrated Services (DIS) is a proud Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business based in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area providing management consulting services to the Federal Government and organizations supporting federal agencies. With many years of public sector expertise, DIS offers client services and support in the areas of Strategic Communications and Integrated Marketing, Information Technology, and Enterprise Optimization.
DIS is currently seeking a communications Consultant to join our Strategic Communications and Integrated Marketing practice. The right individual has a strong background in qualitative research and strategic communications. The ideal consultant should possess strong writing, communication, presentation and organizational skills as well as strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter, proactive problem solver, and action-oriented team player. They must also be committed to providing superior service, poised under fast-paced pressure, and have a positive and flexible attitude.

Essential Duties
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the client on research and communications tasks and report progress during client calls
- Plan and implement qualitative research tasks from start to finish, including focus groups and key informant interviews
- Create communication materials such as slide decks, video scripts, executive briefing documents, and reports
- Analyze qualitative research and present strategic recommendations to clients based on findings (e.g., create PowerPoint presentations, reports, etc.)
- Draft and analyze user-experience surveys and manage survey operations from start to finish (e.g., communications to survey participants and the client, building the survey in a survey platform)
- Conduct and moderate focus groups/insight sessions and interviews
- Coordinate and schedule insight sessions and/or interviews, including scheduling participants and focus group locations
- Review and/or write discussion/moderators guides and outlines
- Perform ad-hoc research activities such as environmental scans
- Support other communications and research activities such as communications planning, stakeholder assessment, materials and marketing collateral development, and outreach
Required Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required preferably in a social science, psychology, public health, communication, marketing, or related field
- Minimum of 4 - 6 years of professional experience
- Previous experience moderating insight sessions
- Knowledge of survey platforms (e.g., Survey Monkey)
- Excellent oral and presentation skills
- Experience distilling complex information into easy-to-understand language
- Experience conceptualizing and leading qualitative research
- Fundamental knowledge of communications/marketing best practices
- Strong attention to detail
- Understanding of quality assurance processes prior to submitting client deliverables
- Strong task and/or project management skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to work in team setting or independently
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in the US for any employer as sponsorship is not available for this position.
- Ability to obtain a US government security clearance
- Preference will be given to qualified Veteran candidates
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Experience working for a consulting organization, and/or a government contractor
- Certificate in Human Centered Design (HCD) or Design Thinking. Knowledge and training in HCD best practices.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel
- Foundation in Google Analytics, Cision, or other campaign data analysis tool
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
- While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard.
