Title: Comptroller

Department: Administration

Exemption: Non-Exempt

Supervisor: CEO

DESCRIPTION:

Assumes the responsibility for planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and

monitoring all aspects of the financial operations of the company; including accounting, payrolls

financial reporting/systems, budget, cash management and other finance-related functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; and 3-5 years of progressively responsible financial management experience and having experience in the non-profit sector is highly desirable. CPA designation or on track to receive CPA license. Proven increasingly responsible work experience in grants managing fiscal, auditing and accounting functions including payroll or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide leadership, management and direction to the Finance functions and assigned staff, including professional development activities, performance evaluations and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare financial reports and analyses for external entities (e.g. State and Federal reports).
  • Provides assistance to program staff in the development and compliance of program grants and contracts; monitoring programs to ensure compliance.
  • Creating and completing financial reporting systems (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual). Perform duties that include exercising professional judgment in formulating or assisting in the formulation of policies and procedures.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements by studying existing and new legislations, anticipating financial impact of future legislations, advising management on needed actions, and enforcing adherence to requirements.
  • Coordinate internal audit program.
  • Other duties as assigned
