EFK Moen, LLC, a civil engineering consulting firm, is currently seeking a mid-level highway construction administration engineer for a full-time position. The company offers a locally competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package. Job location will be in our St Louis, MO office.

Job Description:

Perform civil engineering construction administration services in a team-oriented environment. Construction administration may include construction layout and inspection, project documentation and testing, and processing contractor pay requests and change orders. Project emphasis is transportation construction engineering for both public and private sectors. Services are provided to a wide range of clients that include governmental agencies - municipal, county and state. The projects can range in scope from small to multi-million-dollar construction administration.

Responsibilities:

• Provides accurate measurement, computation, and documentation of contract items
• Assures that the project is progressing according to established timeframes; avoid delays due to inadequate supervision by staff
• Assures that the contract provisions are met and that all work and materials meet established specifications
• Responsible for correct installation and maintenance of all required traffic controls to assure maximum safety for the traveling public
• Resolves all complaints by property owners and the motoring public to the mutual benefit of the owner and the citizenry
• Ability to supervise additional employees
• Responsible for the motivation and development of subordinates

• Performs duties in compliance with the company's safety rules
• Performs other job duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university required
• 2-10 years of experience
• EIT required, PE preferred
• Proficient in contract administration software, MoDOT AASHTOWARE, IDOT ICORS/CMMS recommended
• Working knowledge of DOT/AASHTO Standards
• Working knowledge of CADD (Microstation of AutoCad) preferred
• DOT project experience preferred
• Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Valid driver's license
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Physical Qualifications

• Requires strong physical ability to lift and transport up to 40 or 50 pounds for extended time
• Demonstrate flexibility and/or agility, as well as hand dexterity to operate equipment/tools
• Willingness to endure any/all weather conditions, as well as possible exposures to poisonous plants, insects, snakes, and animals
• Job duties may require both field work and office work
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to commute and/or travel long distances and/or stay overnight at project locations for extended time
