Job description

The Construction Foreman is responsible for coordinating and supervising a crew of 4 – 10 (depending on the size of the job) in the San Diego Area. The ideal candidate has at least (5) years experience in landscape construction as a Foreman and possesses the following skills:

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Soil preparation techniques, treatments, and amendments
• Irrigation and drainage systems installation and trouble-shooting
• Ability to read and understand construction plans
• Manage costs to budget through all phases of construction
• Ability to plan ahead, coordinate delivery of material and track labor hours
• Operate various pieces of maintenance equipment, including service vehicle, trailer, and motorized landscape installation vehicles and equipment
• Ability to follow complex instructions and complete required paperwork
• OSHA 10 Certified preferred or the ability to obtain certification within (60) days
• Must be able to communicate in English and Spanish
• Must have a valid California Driver’s License with good driving recorD

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Delegate daily assignments to laborers and provide direction and on-site coordination with subcontractors as needed to maintain highest levels of productivity and complete jobs within labor budgets

· Assure compliance and adherence to plans and specifications

· Safely and efficiently operate motorized equipment and power tools used for landscape/irrigation installation including backhoes, trenchers, and other earth-moving equipment

· Accept overall responsibility for all operations, levels of performance, safety, and accuracy in performance of jobs

· Understand and implement company policies and procedures

• Lead crew through all phases of timely completion of the project

• Complete annual reviews for crew members
• Complete required vehicle/equipment milage reports
• Complete weekly labor tracking
• Endure moderate to heavy work in all weather conditions and lift up to (50) pounds
• Maintain a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with customers and staff
• Adhere to and promote LDI’s company doctrine, values, and mission statement

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
