The Position:
Neelands USA Limited is searching for a Controls Technician to join our southeast division. This position is regular, full-time reporting to the Controls Manager. The Controls (BAS) Technician will work independently with contractors on installation of Control Systems including CPC and other controls systems. This opportunity does require the individual to be able to travel. Hours of work will vary by project and will include nights and early morning start times.

Your Role and Responsibilities:
  • Programming of Micro Thermo, Emerson/CPC, Novar, Danfoss and other controls systems according to reference schedule and store layout
  • Read and interpret blueprints to understand schematics
  • Installation of controls systems of HVAC units
  • Installation of controls systems of lighting
  • Installation of watt meters and current taps
  • Installation of associated hardware and peripherals
  • Provided training to customers at store level
  • Oversight of refrigeration rack retrofits
  • Responsibilities may very based on project requirements
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Refrigeration, electrician license or equivalent experience
  • High school diploma;
  • Excellent communication skills (read/write/speak);
  • Strong mechanical aptitude an asset;
  • Ability to use hand and power tools is an asset;
  • Ability to program building management system (BMS), ideal candidate has knowledge of Micro Thermal, Emerson and Danfos
  • Commitment to lifelong learning
Job Requirements:
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Must have basic understanding of HVAC units;
  • Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft programs;
  • Experience working with the integration of controls systems;
  • Must be able to travel within southeast with overnight stays;
  • Must be reliable;
  • Must work effectively independently and with a team and possess strong attention to detail;
  • Must be able to use hand tools and power tools;
  • Must work in an organized manner with an ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines;
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude;
