• The Line Cook is responsible for preparation/cooking of foods and to provide our residents with all of their meals and/or snacks in a sanitary and safe manner adhering to all policies and procedures of the facility while focusing on customer service and satisfaction. Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Proper dining room service for the residents and/or family members.

2. Proper “in kitchen” preparation and cleaning in regard to the station assigned to you.

3. Adhere to all assigned break times and service times.

4. Complete all tasks assigned according to given job duty for every shift.

5. Ensure all HIPAA requirements are adhered to.

6. Adhere to all facility and department policies and procedures.

7. Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

8. Prepare all foods adhering to all NY State codes and regulations for sanitation, storage and temperature

Requirements:

Education:

• Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent).

Work Experience:

• A minimum of two years experience and training in food preparation in a health care facility or related food service operation.
• Completion of an approved sanitation course or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 1 years’ experience as a cook in a health care setting desired.

Job Knowledge/Requirements:

• Must have a full knowledge of all sanitary codes and all menu production methods.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
• Exemplary customer service skills.

ADA Requirements:

• Candidate will have the physical ability to perform job related duties, which may require lifting, bending, stooping, stretching, pulling and pushing up to 50lbs or more as needed.
