Job description
Seeking team member for a commercial kitchen, who is friendly, dependable and has a passion for service. We are looking for an individual who has experience serving large groups daily. We are a non-profit organization that values teamwork and appreciate individuals who respect our culture, and the quiet nature of our kitchen.
Monday through Friday. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.
No weekends, no nights. Day shifts. Gated parking. Lunch is provided.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, work a full shift on one’s feet and maintain physical activity throughout the course of each shift.
- Punctual and reliable.
- A background in food service and/or food preparation as well as knowledge of vegetarian cooking.
- Creativity and experience in preparing and presenting a wide variety of foods from small, household-quantity portions to large commercial quantities.
- Ability to work within deadlines and time constraints.
- Ability to respond professionally and appropriately to continual changes and unforeseen challenges as they occur.
- Fluent in the English language.
- Basic math skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
- Ability to function well in a multi-task environment.
- Ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality.
- High school graduate preferred and/or the equivalent skills.

Job Duties:
- Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safety and efficiently
- Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
- Assist with the cleaning and organization of kitchen and equipment
- Restock items as needed throughout the shift
- Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
Uniform:
- Employer-supplied hairnets and gloves
- Employer-supplied uniform
- Sleeveless shirts/tank tops not allowed
- Shorts, skirts not allowed
