Job description
We're looking for a smart, hungry Copywriter to join our tight-knit squad here at Blue Bear; someone who loves learning, coming up with new ideas, exploring emerging platforms and of course, getting laughs and other feels through witty copywriting.
You'll partner with our Creative/Art Directors, Designers and Jr. Copywriters on a range of creative work: from faster, “smaller” motion-forward content to “bigger” campaigns for some of America's favorite CPG, alcohol and restaurant brands.
While this role certainly entails plenty of the “traditional copywriting” responsibilities, our copywriters wear many hats and aren't afraid to get their hands dirty.

- A pulse on what's trending, with intuition for when it's right to jump on a trending topic, (and when it's not)

- An obsession with spelling and grammar, but a feel for when those rules should be broken
- A knack for concepting ideas for both integrated and bite-sized creative needs
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- You'll work with the creative team to brainstorm, present and sell through humorous brand content ideas, with a strong focus on social and motion content
- You'll develop copy for social media concepts, posts, tweets, ads, and various other digital mediums
- You'll build and strengthen clients' brand voice and presence on various social and digital channels
- You'll care more about concepting, writing, developing, and putting the team in the best position to present our ideas than you do about getting credit for the work
- You'll have a mastery of industry best practices and the platforms we love, as well as be willing to learn and articulate the unique Blue Bear POV
- You'll support key internal strategic initiatives, including helping with new business pitches and assisting with company development
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Strong concepting and brainstorming skills
- A solid sense of humor, along with a knack for both Twitter-speak and meme-culture
- Deep understanding of Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, including their respective strengths, nuances, and success metrics
- Creative writing skills with range: You can make people laugh in the form of a tweet, and yet, your ability to articulate an idea in written form would still make your 12th grade English teacher proud.
- The details matter to you - you know every word is important, and that great copy demands great care.
- You understand the nuances of tone, voice, syntax, and structure, and are highly familiar with social vernacular as well.
- Strong presentation skills and comfort growing into a client-facing role with audiences from Brand Managers to CMOs
- The ability to meet quick-turn deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong relationship building skills and emotional intelligence (big egos need not apply!)
- An aptitude for communication, organization and the time management skills to work across a roster of different brands.
- Entrepreneurial tendencies are a plus
- Equal parts confidence, humility, and desire to learn
WHERE YOU'VE BEEN
- A Bachelor's degree or entrepreneurial street creds
- 2+ years of experience copywriting, developing, and creating social media content
- 2+ years experience articulating brand voice in a B2C capacity in a copywriting, social media or hybrid role.
- While agency experience is preferred, it's not required
