Blue Stone Therapy was founded in 2009 and provides contract physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology to communities in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Our focus is to deliver optimal, individualized rehabilitation by highly skilled professional therapists while developing long-term partnerships between our staff and the communities they serve.
Due to expansion, we are currently seeking a Credentialing Specialist to join our team at the home office in Urbandale, IA.
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for processing and maintaining all required credentialling files, obtains insurance and provider numbers, and provides administrative support.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Credentialing of therapists with all insurance companies.
- Create and maintain, licensing, credentials, and insurance records.
- Maintains awareness of applicable laws and regulations affecting areas of responsibility and makes recommendations for changes to ensure compliance.
- Releases information to requesting agencies and public inquiries when required by law.
- Help develop internal credentialing processes.
- Monitor license and credential expiration dates and advise staff members of required renew by dates.
- Ensure the facility and staff members maintain compliance with regulatory and accrediting institutions.
- Perform bookkeeping work, including posting data or keeping other records concerning costs of services.
- Maintains strict control with all confidential files and medical staff materials,
- Provides various operations reports, monthly, quarterly and on an as needed basis.
- Assist with renewal of payor contracts and updating facility information.
- Serves as backup support for payroll, reception, and office administration team members.
- Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required, including but not limited to miscellaneous reporting, accounts processing and general office support.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years in a medical/managed care credentialing role.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
- Medical/Health Billing experience preferred.
- Net Health/Optima experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Accounting, financial analysis, and compliance software beneficial.

- Must have strong organization and communication skills, with high attention to detail.
- Must work effectively in a team environment, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
