Parks & Recreation
Under general supervision, performs supervisory level work and skilled or semi-skilled tasks as assigned within one of the department's divisions which include: Aquatics & Fitness, Park Ranger, Park Maintenance, Recreation and Sports. Plans, organizes, implements and evaluates programs, events and facility operations and schedules, trains and evaluates work performance of subordinates. Works days, nights and weekends as needed. Reports to Coordinator, Supervisor or Designee.

Minimum Requirements (Must meet by the closing date of the posting unless otherwise stated)

Graduation from high school and 1 to 3 years of experience in athletics, fitness aquatics or recreational programs; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.

Possession of the following licenses/certifications:

  • Aquatics Facility Operator (AFO) Certification or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) License or the ability to obtain either certification within 180 days of appointment into the position.
  • American Red Cross Certifications for Lifeguard/CPR and First Aid.

Special Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class "E" Florida Driver's license.
  • Must possess a good driving record.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Employees Hired Prior to 10/1/2013 :
$20.6012 - $30.4557/Hourly
$42,851 - $63,348/Annually
Employees Hired on or After 10/1/2013 :
$20.0151- $30.4553/Hourly
$41,631 - $63,347/Annually
