Job Description


AECOM
is seeking a Data Scientist II to support AECOM's Environmental Remediation practice for complex sites and our expanding team for remediation analytics. This position will be based in Glen Allen, VA and support the Remediation Team across the organization.

AECOM delivers innovative and often complex solutions to meet our clients’ objectives. AECOM has the depth and breadth of resources to address significant remedial site challenges, and we support the development of our technical staff to be their best via professional mentorship and development.

We help clients reduce their impact on the environment, achieve compliance and reduce risks.

The job responsibilities for this position will include but not limited to:

  • Manage workflows and data in geodatabase, environmental database, and numeric computing environments.
  • Perform data analysis, modeling, visualizations and interpretations of environmental data.
  • Refine, expand, and develop analytics tools and technical solutions for complex sites including PFAS.
  • Incorporate work products and findings into technical deliverables and reports.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary remediation analytics team.
  • Comfortable working with a team toward a common goal, while working independently on individual tasks
    • Under direct or general supervision, may complete scientific assignments of limited complexity.
    • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned scientific personnel.

Qualifications


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid Drivers License with a good driving record

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geophysics, Hydrogeology, Geochemistry or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in environmental consulting
  • Experience with MATLAB and Statistics and Machine Learning Toolbox
  • Experience with Spatial analysis using geographic information systems.
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER
  • Technical skills including Database, GIS, CAD, visualization software skills
  • Passing Engineering-in-Training (FE) test
