Job description

We are seeking an inspirational leader with exceptional strategic thinking and communication skills. The position is responsible for spearheading and leading the creative process of the Design Department, and for partnering with cross-functional teams. This role requires exceptional leadership and project management skills: aligning calendars, streamlining creative workflow, and ensuring the Design Team’s deliverables are being met. The position will require you to be innovative while being cognizant of price point and capabilities within current industry. You will be managing multiple projects and lines in a fast-paced, volume-driven company.

Essential Functions:

• Oversee and lead the design team through the creative process from concept to approval.
• Drive the vision on the creation of our eCommerce brand(s).
• Partner with sales and production teams on designs from concept to final product.
• Prepare and presenting during company and customer meetings.
• Facilitate creative review meetings, including internal meetings and work sessions.
• Conduct market/trend research on new silhouettes, color, and fabrication to be presented to the team and customers.
• Manage performance through individual and team KPI’s.

Qualifications Include:

• Bachelor’s degree in fashion design, product design, industrial design, textiles, graphics or other relevant field.
• 3-5 years of leading a design team while managing multiple deadlines.
• Ability to build seasonal concepts, as well as short and long term vision.
• Understanding of the apparel product creation and manufacturing processes.
• Communication style: Clear, Concise, and Thoughtful (strong verbal and written skills).
• Presentation style: Ability to present new insights or seasonal concepts to small or large groups, including presenting to executive leaders, and external partners or customers.
• Experience building inspiration/concept presentations, and mood boards for seasonal concepts and direction.
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify when products are plateauing.
• Understanding of garment fit, and a great eye for color and trend.
• High level of organization, attention to detail, and great follow-up skills.
• Excellent Illustrator and Photoshop skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• eCommerce experience
