The salary range for this role, based in New York is $140,805.00 to $234,675.00, range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.

Reward Director - Compensation, NAM

Within the global Total Rewards COE, our role is to help craft and deliver a driven employee value proposition that enables us to attract and retain the best talent, build fulling employee experience and help the organization achieve efficient business performance!

In line with our global Reward philosophy and strategy, you will be accountable for delivering competitive compensation to ~2200 Diageo colleagues across the North America (NAM) region, which includes the United States, Canada and US Virgin Islands. This role will be based in our NAM headquarters’ outstanding office space located at 3 World Trade Center in New York City. As Diageo’s largest region by profitability, this is a critical, high impact role requiring significant compensation management expertise coupled with outstanding customer engagement and interpersonal skills.

Reporting into the VP, Market Reward for Americas and APAC and working inclusively with Diageo’s Global Reward COE, this position will also play a key role in our ongoing transformation efforts aimed at delivering step-change improvements in the purpose & impact of our global Reward programs & practices.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Represents and aligns Diageo’s global Total Rewards philosophy, strategy and priorities to the needs and priorities of the region and its individual markets in partnership with key partners
  • Demonstrates a strong eye for business and deep domain expertise to serve as trusted advisor to Regional HRD, market HRBPs and senior business leaders across the region.
  • Maintains regional salary structures and delivers robust market intelligence and data-driven insights that ensure our competitive posture and drive thoughtful pay decisions
  • Ensures appropriate execution of annual compensation planning process and budget cycle; prepares and delivers summary reviews with regional leadership
  • Evangelizes our global Reward philosophy and strategy and their linkages to our talent programs and strategies to ensure the organization’s understanding and accurate application
  • Responsible for financial forecasting of salary costs and incremental investment required to achieve our targeted pay proposition
  • Partners with the NAM Benefits Reward Director to ensure a driven Total Rewards package
  • Stays abreast of external trends and standard methodologies through active participation in regional compensation & benefits forum
  • Represents the needs, interests, and priorities of the region to the Reward Leadership Team
  • Helps craft, lead and/or participate in COE transformation efforts and projects
  • Develops market leading policies, practices, and programs ad hoc in pursuit of company purpose to celebrate life, every day, everywhere.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Minimum 8 years' compensation and benefits management experience
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must willing to work within our hybrid working model
  • Proficient English language skills are required
  • Sophisticated computer software skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making and time management skills
  • Ability to quickly assemble facts/data, analyze and formulate concrete insights
  • Exceptional consultative skills, able to successfully influence team members of all levels
  • Understanding for the component parts of HR and how to deliver high-quality service(s) across multiple markets and client groups
  • Strong self-starter who is eager to learn and has the tenacity to follow through on assigned projects to successful completion
  • Familiarity with Workday and Willis Towers Watson’s Global Grading System preferred
