Hillsboro Community Hospital is looking for a Dietary Aide/Prep Cook to add to our team.

Hillsboro Community Hospital is a 15-bed critical access hospital located in Marion County, close to Marion Reservoir Lake and on the edge of the scenic Flint Hills. Hillsboro is less than an hour’s drive from Wichita to the South, Salina to the North, Hutchinson to the West, and Emporia to the East.

We pride ourselves on providing top quality medical care for Hillsboro and all of Marion County. Our services include an emergency department, full-service laboratory, inpatient care, physical therapy, radiology, surgery, swing bed, specialty clinics, and a family practice clinic.

The Dietary Aide/Prep Cook works under the guidance of the Dietary Manager. The ideal candidate will be perceptive, friendly, and have a desire to provide the exceptional care that the patients in our community deserve.

What You Bring/Job Requirements:

Qualified Dietary Aide/Prep Cook candidates will need the following:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Food Handlers Card preferred but not required
• One to three months of experience preferred

Dietary Aide/Prep Cook Requirements:

· Medium Work Exertion

• Frequently required to stand and talk or hear
• Frequently required to walk
• Occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception

Shift: Monday – Friday Days and Rotating Weekends (shared equally between all team members).
