Hiring Immediately: DSP! No previous experience needed.
The Arc Ontario of Canandaigua, NY, a Human Services Agency, is seeking to hire entry-level full-time Day Habilitation Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to provide habilitation support to children, adults, and elderly persons with developmental disabilities in obtaining their life goals. The role of the DSP is to teach, encourage, inspire, mentor, influence, instruct, nurture, and praise the individuals that you support.
All COVID-19 safety requirements are strictly adhered to at The Arc Ontario and all PPE are provided for all employees. Training on all safety requirements will be provided during the onboarding process.

Day Habilitation Direct Support Professional Responsibilities:

• Provide habilitation support to individuals to enhance each person's self-sufficiency in the areas of personal independence, community integration, and productivity.
• Build relationships with people with disabilities and learn their individual differences in ability, personality, interests, learning, motivation, and likes and dislikes.
• Work closely with Day Habilitation Team Members to learn each Individual's Life Plan
• Collaborate with each individual supported to create growth on their personal goals while prioritizing health and safety.
• Positively influence behavior while assessing and providing skills that will assist them in integrating into their community in the least restrictive environment.
• Work successfully with assigned Peer Coach to complete all aspects of training

Work Hours:
Monday-Friday (8am-4pm) with flexibility to meet program needs.

Direct Support Professionals Qualifications:

• All Direct Support Professionals must be 18 years of age
• High School/GED or an equivalent amount of education and experience is required
• No previous experience required, but one year of experience preferred
• Valid NYS driver's license required with no moving violations for twelve months prior to date of hire
• Ability to pass a background and reference check

We are hiring immediately for entry-level candidates. Experience as caregivers, babysitters, direct care workers, childcare, Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a plus!
Paid Training: Successful completion of agency orientation requirements within first three (3) months of hire: Medication Administration, ARC driver certified, CPR and First Aid, Behavioral Support Training, Physical Assistance Techniques training, certification in Positive Approaches, Successful Completion of All Staff Are Teachers (ASAT) training - within one year of hire.
