The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Director and Assistant Chief Trademark Counsel for the Health Care Business Group (HCBG)you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Create and manage global brand protection programs, including online enforcement programs, anti-generic programs, global Customs enforcement, online to offline enforcement, counterfeit investigations and managing civil and criminal anti-counterfeit actions for some of HCBG’s most valuable brands.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to enforce HCBG’s trademark rights in civil litigation.
- Provide client counseling to the four divisions within HCBG on trademark related issues globally including providing transaction services.
- Manage a large and diverse global HCBG trademark portfolio
- Obtain and maintain HCBG’s trademark rights globally and working with local counsel to obtain such rights.
- Participate as a member of an IP due diligence team for merger and acquisition projects for HCBG focusing on the trademark assets.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school (completed and verified prior to start)
- Ten (10) years trademark law firm and/or in-house experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Business acumen and an ability to provide legal and compliance advice in the context of strategic business initiatives and goals
- Highly effective written and verbal communications skills, with an ability to communicate and relate at all levels of the organization including business line leaders, regional heads, and senior management
- Results-orientated approach; personal and organizational accountability; and a collegial work style
- High energy and a dedication to responsive client service
- Uncompromising honesty and integrity
- Admitted to practice in Minnesota or eligible for admission within six months of employment
- Strong academic credentials
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
