Operix is looking for a Director of Engineering and Operations to join our team, who will manage the tools and processes that support platform development, deployment, scalability, and security. In this role, you will be responsible for helping to shape and execute the engineering activities at the company in collaboration with our product team and leadership. It also encompasses supervision, recruitment, and program management responsibilities for the engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the engineering and operations teams
• Work closely with our Scrum teams following the agile framework for delivering complex products
• Manage a team of ~4-6 direct reports
• Ensure the team is developing high-quality, production-ready products
• Manage relationships with nearshore and offshore contractors
• Hold weekly one-on-ones with direct reports
• Support new product release activities
• Build, develop, train, lead, and enable high-performing teams
• Other day-to-day administrative activities as needed

Requirements

• Experience with managing direct reports
• 10+ years of experience in Software Development
• Experience in managing mission-critical production workloads in AWS
• Experience in Vue.js and PHP and related technologies is desirable
• Experience working with Agile methods
• A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• This job is a hybrid or remote work opportunity.
• Quarterly travel to our Boston office may be required for team meetings.
