Position Summary:
The Director of Marketplace Programs manages SHOP.COM direct marketplace programs, advertising programs and related business projects. This role works in coordination with Market America e-commerce strategies and the Marketplace operations leadership initiatives.
Essential Function and Responsibilities:

  • Manages the overall marketplace program: including account management for marketplace partners, affiliates & advertising programs as assigned.
  • Develops marketplace programs and plans to meet Strategic Plan and business objectives.
  • Recruits new partners to increase traffic, sales, and company revenue.
  • Monitor & report marketplace program activity, analyze performance, identify improvements, and make recommendations to increase company revenues.
  • Contacts partners to establish successful and maintain relationships.
  • Develop, track, and manage offers to marketplace partners to establish benchmarks and reporting metrics
  • Manage and facilitate day to day marketplace program optimization, retention of same.
  • Manage communications with marketplace partners to ensure timely and accurate offers, payments, and resolutions.
  • Create business rules and use cases to support partner and advertising programs.
  • Collaborate with merchants / advertisers to optimize performance and revenue streams.
  • Serve as technical liaison for the Marketplace POD partners to effectively diagnose and resolve program issues or problems.
  • Collaborate with various departments on developments and launches.
  • Notify appropriate departments with updates on technical, legal, procedures, or business requirements to ensure consistency, integration, and compliance.
  • Perform public speaking engagements to promote the company, brand, and products.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise and support a diverse work force, and set goals and performance expectations for the team
Address employee or customer concerns and/or elevates to the Management team
Train, assist employees and manage employee work loads and schedules
Works within budgetary controls Supports the Company’s Safety Programs
Acts as an ambassador and champion of the company culture, ethics, and values
Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or related field
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of combined experience in project management, website operations, affiliate programs, sales, and/or marketing
  • Demonstrated experience in progressive supervisory roles
  • Demonstrated experience in international markets preferred

Computer/Communication Skills:

  • Proficient use of MS Office programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook, required
  • High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted strategic projects in conjunction with day-to-day tactical activities
  • Ability to get along and work with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, flexible
  • Prioritizes and models good communication skills; follows up, timely responses, proactive and positive in approach
  • High levels in reading comprehension, writing, and speaking in English
  • Participative management style—advocate of team concept
  • Results and people oriented, with judgment to balance other business considerations

Travel:

  • Remote work with business approval
  • Annual conference participation and related travel
