Job description

The dish and general utility position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, kitchen equipment and floors, by using a machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for maintaining a positive image of the community keeping in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.

2. Always Adhere to all uniform standards including a name tag, clean uniform and personal hygiene.

3. Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through machine.

4. Sort and stack clean dishes. Carry and put away clean dishes to cook’s line, and proper storage areas.

5. Maintain clean dish water in machine by changing out every 2 hours.

6. Ensure knowledge and understanding of proper dishwasher procedures and operations.

7. Ensure proper knowledge and understanding of using chemicals and cleaning supplies.

8. Wash large pots and pans by hand in 3 compartment sink following all proper procedures.

9. Mop and maintain floors with proper cleaning procedures.

10. Remove all trash and take to dumpsters in accordance with state and health regulations.

11. Set up and break down dish machine following all regulations and sanitation guidelines.

12. Follow all sanitation and safety guidelines in all aspects of the kitchen.

13. Fill and empty 3 compartment sinks with cleaning and sanitizing solutions by following the directions.

14. Performs other similar duties, as needed
